About the job

As we have been growing quite fast over the last years, we are looking for someone that can help us guide the growth, support our founders with the management & leadership responsibility, with safeguarding the main objectives, keeping laser focus, support with creating strategy and tactics, and most important: taking up the daily management of the operations. You are actually kind of the mom/dad of the team :-)

Avy is an organisation with a very free, open and self-reliant team & culture, but also, honestly speaking, an organisation that sometimes lacks focus, continuity and calmness. We are looking for an experienced leader that brings exactly that, and that is happy to support Avy in its growth and towards the next phase in our scaling-up.    

Based on the leadership principles of Avy and your own values, skills and experience, you guide the team through our growth towards becoming a world-leading sustainable autonomous aviation manufacturer that is making a huge positive impact on the planet.

You work closely together with the (co)founders and with all the 'head of's (departement leads). You coach, facilitate and support them, you safeguard the mission and objectives and you support the whole team to keep laser focus. Furthermore you support all the teams with their growth and you help to align the teams and smoothen communication and collaboration. 

You are the spider-in-the-web and the glue that holds Avy together, in tough times and during our greatest adventures.

About you

• You have significant experience in the COO (or similar) role.
• You have experience in working in a start-up or scale-up. 
• You have no problem whatsoever with spoken and written Dutch and English. 
  
• Our leadership values and principles resonate with you.
• You have experience working with founders.
• You are a true self-starter, down to earth, positive and have a strong drive for improvement.
• You are intrinsically motivated, used to work in a fast-paced organization and feel connected with Avy mission and vision.
• You have a passion to keep up with the latest Org Design trends;
• You are a sparring partner for the teamleads, you are a good listener, who knows when to intervene;
• You know how to coach and how to mentor
• You bring focus, calmness and support
• You are a good facilitator that knows how to give others the space
• You have strong emphatic skills
