About the role
We are looking for a skilled drone regulations expert to join our Flight Operations team as Regulatory and Compliance Manager.
We hope to find a candidate who is equally excited to work on documentation, connect with authorities and stakeholders and be an active part of our team.
As Regulatory & Compliance Officeryou will bring valuable expertise on risk analysis and your talent for analytical thinking; you will grow into understanding the drone ecosystem and help Avy to enable life-saving drone flights throughout Europe.
You will be involved in daily strategic tasks, among which:
Define, design and arrange approval for new types of operations with the SORA methodology
Support with, check & approve flight plans together with Avy's pilots
Act as point of contact between Avy and the aviation authorities (such as ILT, LVNL, EASA,...)
Conduct advisory projects for Avy and Avy’s customers
Understand and work with our LUC
Stay aware of any updates released by EASA that are related to Avy and ensure Avy’s operations are compliant with these
Compare and work with different drone regulations around the world
Mission
At Avy’s Flight Operations team, our mission is the overall planning, directing, managing, and implementing of groundbreaking VTOL drone operations. Our main directive is to ensure we deliver our customers with a well-tested and smoothly operating VTOL system.
We strive to conduct all our flights at the highest level of safety, guarantee operations that comply with all applicable regulations and enable our customers to uphold the same standards.
About You

You have an all round knowledge of the activities and processes in drones and/or aviation
You know how to make a SORA, read an VFR chart, and write a flight plan
You are aware of the work conducted by EASA & ICAO and always up to date with the latest releases
You love learning and researching
You are well structured and organized
You are a team player with a can do attitude
You enjoy office banter in between hard work
Requirements
At least 2 years of experience in the UAS or regulatory/compliance sector
A university degree in Social Sciences, Law, History, Business Administration, Aerospace Engineering, or a safety related education
Strong English and Dutch proficiency, written and spoken
EU citizenship or a EU work permit
Having the following certificates would be a big bonus: EASA A1/A3 and EASA A2 licence, SORA, ISO 9001
